ActiveViam

ActiveViam is recognized for driving innovation in risk management and technology

  • Best user interface innovation
  • FRTB-SA product of the year
  • Best use of cloud

ActiveViam won three Risk Markets Technology Awards 2025: Best user interface innovation, FRTB (Standardized Approach) product of the year, and Best use of cloud with solutions that address critical challenges in risk management, regulatory compliance and cloud integration.

These honors make ActiveViam a three-year winner at the Markets Technology Awards, which are organized by Risk.net and recognized as the risk markets’ most prestigious awards. They focus on traded risk technology, front-office regulation, pricing/trading technology, and buy-side technology, as well as data, back-office and innovation categories.

Antoine Chambille, ActiveViam Chief Technology Officer, said, “We are honored to receive three 2025 Risk Markets Technology Awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation. Our team of technologists is the best of the best, and I thank them for their brilliant work. Merci mes amis! I especially appreciate our incredibly loyal clients, who have made Atoti the top choice of financial organizations in data analytics software.”

Best user interface innovation: Atoti Limits

Risk officers and managers rely on ActiveViam’s Atoti Limits to manage the significant challenges they face when managing complex limits and breach alerts. Judges noted this innovative solution enhances the user experience by streamlining the process of creating, updating, and monitoring limits. Atoti Limits, an add-on to any Atoti deployment, provides a centralized, intuitive interface, enabling users to define limits at granular levels and across multiple asset classes. The user-friendly design enables risk officers to manage limits efficiently while maintaining transparency and compliance with regulatory standards.

The judges said:

"Atoti limits has a very intuitive design, tackling the important topic of efficient limit management."

Reducing the time to investigate and resolve limit breaches is critical. With its one-click breach investigation tool, Atoti Limits users can quickly identify the root cause of any breach alert.

Atoti Limits was also recognized for:

  • Scalability

Handling over 200,000 limit rules across various asset classes without compromising performance

  • Visibility

Offering real-time visibility to traders and portfolio managers enables fast and well-informed decisions, enhancing agility in response to market fluctuations

  • Enhanced compliance

The platform’s audit history functionality ensures complete traceability of all actions taken, providing financial institutions with a complete view into their risk management activities

FRTB (Standardized Approach) product of the year: Atoti FRTB SA

The judges called ActiveViam’s Atoti FRTB SA an important platform for financial institutions navigating the complex regulatory landscape of the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB). They noted the solution excels in three key areas: reporting, explaining and optimizing, making Atoti FRTB SA an indispensable tool for banks striving for FRTB compliance.

The complete transparency offered by Atoti FRTB SA enables banks to justify their figures to auditors and regulators. Atoti FRTB SA does not just report risk figures; it allows analysts to trace discrepancies back to their data sources.

The judges said:

“The emphasis on explanation and optimization — areas where other FRTB SA solutions fall short — makes this a deserving winner.”

The judges called out the platform’s advanced optimization capabilities, which allow banks to explore a range of scenarios and make better capital charge allocation decisions. Judges also noted that with its quick deployment – possible within just four to six weeks – Atoti FRTB SA is an attractive solution for institutions that need to meet regulatory deadlines swiftly and efficiently.

The platform’s support for multi-jurisdictional compliance is another important differentiator, allowing financial institutions to meet the requirements of different regulators around the world simultaneously.

Best use of cloud: Atoti with DirectQuery

Atoti took home its second consecutive win in the best use of cloud category. ActiveViam’s DirectQuery functionality for Atoti represents an important shift in how financial institutions handle cloud data. DirectQuery allows Atoti to query external databases directly, without having to load data into memory beforehand. This innovation expands the scalability of Atoti, enabling users to handle cloud-sized datasets that exceed the capabilities of traditional in-memory systems.

The judges said:

“A clear innovation that has been developed over the past couple of years, DirectQuery allows clients to access large datasets at minimal cost.”

As data volumes grow, the cost of processing large datasets becomes prohibitive. With DirectQuery, ActiveViam addresses this issue by enabling users to perform complex analytics without the need for excessive data duplication or memory consumption. The solution supports a variety of data warehouses and lakes, including Amazon Redshift, ClickHouse, Databricks, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Azure Synapse, Microsoft SQL Server, Dremio and Snowflake.

DirectQuery also enhances flexibility, as it allows for real-time OLAP cubes that start up in seconds. Time and cost of project deployment are reduced, while dynamic, on-demand analytics are enabled across vast datasets. A recent enhancement to DirectQuery includes the ability to use aggregate tables, which optimize memory usage and speed up query responses by pre-aggregating and caching selected data.

DirectQuery reduces operational costs while maintaining high performance by allowing IT teams to determine which parts of the dataset should be kept in memory for immediate access and which should remain stored in long-term storage. It provides a consistent semantic layer across cloud and on-premises environments, allowing applications to move between infrastructures without losing functionality.
